"An actor (a delightful Melina Moghadassian in this production) stands on stage, and is handed a sealed envelope containing the script. This is the first time that they have held the script, and the very first reading of it will be to the audience gathered here. They are to obey all instructions, to follow the letter of the law exactly. With no prior preparation every performance will be different, and each actor will bring their own unique reading to the piece — a truly once in a lifetime performance."

WHITE RABBIT RED RABBIT
St. Paul's Church, Theater for the New City, and TheaterLab
Internationally acclaimed White Rabbit Red Rabbit, by Iranian writer Nassim Soleimanpour, is an audacious theatrical experiment and a potent reminder of the transgressive and transformative power of theatre.
Forbidden to leave his native Iran, Soleimanpour wrote a play which travelled the world in his place.
Since its joint premiere in 2011, the play has been translated into over 25 different languages and has been performed over 1000 times by some of the biggest names in theatre and film, including actors Whoopi Goldberg, Nathan Lane, John Hurt, Simon McBurney, Stephen Fry, Sinead Cusack, Marcus Brigstocke and Ken Loach.
As an invitation from Aurora Nova, this performance was part of Let There Be Theatre – A Call to Action on March 13.
Written by Nassim Souleimanpour
Produced by Ana Moioli and Luísa Galatti, in association with Aurora Nova
